Join Barnardos and Take Part in the Largest Santa Dash in Ireland
Barnardos 5K Santa Dash, Sunday 6th December
Barnardos, Irelands leading childrens charity is inviting families, friends and colleagues to take part in the third annual Barnardos 5K Santa Dash fun run at Marlay Park, Rathfarnham on Sunday, 6th December to help raise vital funds to keep Barnardos projects open.
Over the past week, Santa Claus has been spotted in various locations all over Ireland training for the forthcoming Barnardos 5K Santa Dash. Ireland and Munster rugby stars Paul O Connell and Keith Earls took some time out of their busy schedules to give Santa some expert training tips and ensure he is getting into good shape for the fun event.
Speaking after his exclusive training session with the rugby players, Mr Claus said: “Its really important to me to be fit and healthy, especially with my busiest night of the year fast approaching. Last years Santa Dash at Marlay Park was fantastic with over 400 boys and girls and their mammies, daddies and friends joining in. This year, its set to be even bigger and I’m really hoping to take the prize for the fastest Santa – that would be magic!”
Speaking about the event, Ruth Guy, Fundraising and Marketing Director of Barnardos said, 'This is third year of the Barnardos 5K Santa Dash and we are delighted to have Data Solutions sponsoring us again. We’re hoping that this year will be our biggest Santa Dash yet with more than 700 people expected to take part. It really should be a sight to behold, hundreds of Santas running through Marlay park! The day itself is a great opportunity for families, friends and colleagues to get together and have a lot of fun whilst also raising funds for the work Barnardos does with disadvantage children and their families living in Ireland.'

People can register for the Barnardos 5K Santa Dash by visiting www.barnardos.ie or texting JOG to 51444. All participants will receive a fundraising pack in the post. Barnardos will have a supply of Santa suits available on the day for those who dont have their own festive outfit.
Prizes will be awarded to the Fastest Santa, Best Dressed Elf, Most Festive Buggy and many more. The race will start at 10.30 am and refreshments will be provided at St. Johns GAA Club!
