The term is rarely associated with "Routine" maintenance. Routine maintenance is where the solutions is regularly reviewed and checked to ensure it is still delivering the optimal solution to your business. In terms of visible business benefit, "break-fix" maintenance only offers a safety net to solutions that should already be bullet proof. "Routine" maintenance on the other hand is a proactive approach to maintenance that recognises requirements and technologies are always changing.
