Performance Analysis
Data Solutions has considerable experience analysing the performance of Application Server technologies. We can provide you with detailed reports showing how your technology is performing. These reports provide information that is crucial to sizing stages of projects, usage pattern analysis and performance troubleshooting.
Application Server Performance Analysis
Application Server Performance Analysis aims to determine the resource usage patterns of your business applications. This process is based around the analysis of end-user application usage activity over a one or two day period. The process begins with a meeting to discuss the schedule, application list under review and ensure the monitoring tools are working correctly. The end-users are then left to work away as per normal. After one or two days, the consultant returns to the end-customer's site to collect the data. This data is then reviewed to produce a report covering the following topics:
- Monitored Environment - observations of servers and network configuration
- Monitoring Tools - summary of the process just undertaken
- Monitoring Criteria - a detailed introduction to the ins and outs of server, application and network utilisation analysis.
- System/Memory Capacity - how the server performed as the user count increases.
- System/Memory Performance - how the server performed over time.
- Application Resource Usage - how much processor and memory each application uses.
- Application Requirements and Server Sizing - trends for different server configurations.
- Application Capacity - how the application performed as the concurrent count increases.
- Application System/Memory Performance - end-user application usage over time.
Application Server Performance Analysis is useful during a new implementation for stress testing analysis, usage pattern analysis and server-sizing estimation. The analysis can also be included in the "Routine Maintenance" strategy as a periodic review of performance, usage patterns and for understanding requirements when expanding the usage of Citrix environment.
