Site Audits/Health Checks

Data Solutions has a number of Site Audit and Health Check offerings that can be used in project work to verify quality and ensure the optimum configuration has been established. These audits and health checks can also be used in a "Routine Maintenance" strategy as a periodic check to ensure the technology is still delivering the optimal solution to the business.

1. Citrix Project Review
The Project Review aims to document the requirements of a Citrix project. This review is centred on a workshop with the customer to answer the following questions:

  • What business problem are you trying to solve?
  • What computing platform and applications are you using?
  • How many users need access? How many concurrent users?
  • How long will a typical connection last?
  • What application server(s) are you planning to use?
  • How will you connect to the application server?
  • What client hardware/software will you be using?
  • What are the functional requirements for a remote user?
  • What are the performance requirements?

The Project Review delivers a report that can be used as the basis of project planning.
The Project Review is useful in the early stages of project discussions. It gives the customer access to an experienced Citrix Project Manager without going through the full project management methodology.

2. Citrix Farm Review
The Citrix Farm Review is aimed at establishing how well the Citrix Server Farm is performing. A Consultant will spend a day reviewing the servers and related environment. Immediately following the onsite visit, the Consultant will write a report summarising what was found and outlining any improvements that can be made to increase performance and stability.
During the review the Consultant will discuss and advise the customer on the most optimal use of their devices, servers and networking infrastructure.
The Citrix Farm Review is useful during a new implementation to verify quality and ensure the optimum configuration has been established. The review can also be included in the "Routine Maintenance" strategy as a periodic check to ensure the farm is still delivering the optimal solution to the business.

3. Single Server Install Review
The Single Server Install Review is aimed at establishing how well a Citrix Server is performing. An Engineer will spend a half-day reviewing the server. During the half-day audit, the engineer will make notes about the server hardware, operating system, core services, component configuration, printer configuration and application installation. Immediately following the onsite visit, the Engineer will write a report summarising what was found and outlining any improvements that can be made to increase performance and stability.
The Single Server Install Review is useful during a new implementation to verify quality and ensure the optimum configuration has been established. The review can also be included in the "Routine Maintenance" strategy as a periodic check to ensure the server is still delivering the optimal solution to the business.
This review does not have the scope to review multiple servers and the environment they operate within. These aspects require Consulting level skills. Reviewing multiple servers and the associated environment is performed in a Citrix Farm Review.
